Actor Sonu Sood may be the latest Bollywood celebrity to have contracted coronavirus. He's currently in home isolation in the city of Mumbai. Sonu, who helped a large number of migrant workers stranded by the Covid-19 lockdown in Mumbai return home this past year, took to Instagram on Saturday to inform his fans that he has tested positive for Covid.
"Covid-positive. Mood and spirit - super positive. Hi, every, this is to see you that I've tested positive today for Covid-19," the 47-year-old wrote. "As part of precautions, I have already quarantined myself and taking the utmost care. But don't worry thus giving me ample time to resolve your problems. Remember I am always there for you all." Though he started his acting career in regional language films in southern India in 1999, Sonu commenced starring in Hindi films in 2002. He earned accolades for his role in Mani Ratnam's Yuva in 2004 and Aashiq Banaya Aapne a year later. This year 2010, the former model played the lead villain in Abhinav Kashyap's blockbuster Dabangg, co-starring with superstar Salman Khan. He also owns a production house. Several Bollywood celebrities, from singer Kanika Kapoor to actors Aamir Khan, Sunny Deol, Amitabh Bachchan, and his son Abhishek, have already been tested positive for the deadly virus because the pandemic broke out in March this past year. Luckily, every one of them have recovered from Covid.
