The daddy of UK Primary Minister Boris Johnson is trying to get French citizenship to keep ties with europe after Brexit.

Stanley Johnson, a past member of the European Parliament who have voted to remain found in the 2016 referendum, said he wished to turn into a citizen of France and may do thus because his mother was created in the country.

The UK will officially keep the EU orbit at 11pm on Thursday after a 48-year relationship.

British citizens will lose the proper to freedom of movement on the EU and citizens of the bloc’s member states will need to apply to reside in the UK.

Speaking in French, Mr Johnson explained having a French passport was very important to him.

“If I understand it correctly, I am French. My mother was created in France, her mother was totally French, as was her grandfather. Hence for me it really is about reclaiming what I already have. And that makes me very happy,” Mr Johnson, 80, advised French radio station RTL.

“I will continually be a good European, that’s for sure. One cannot notify the British persons: you aren't Europeans. Having a tie with the European Union is important.”

Boris Johnson was first the face of the Vote Leave campaign found in 2016 before becoming primary minister in 2019.

On Wednesday, he said the trade offer brokered between your two sides heralded “a new relationship between Britain and the EU as sovereign equals”.

“This is not the end of Britain as a European country. We are in lots of ways the quintessential European civilisation ... and we'll continue being that,” he said.
