Coronavirus: Emirates updates insurance policy to allow fee-free changes on all flight bookings
As the coronavirus situation continues to evolve, so do airline booking policies.

Emirates has extended it is newly introduced flexible booking coverage to covers all existing bookings. Previously, the policy - that allows travellers to adapt flights without change service fees - only put on new bookings.

The Dubai airline has extended the fee-waiver programme to cover all Emirates flights booked on or before March 31, 2020.

Travellers should be able to transformation flights to any time in an 11-month screen from the initial date of travelling. Previously, bookings could simply be changed for travelling until June 30.

The approach is a bid to provide customers reassurance with regards to travelling. Passengers can make one change for free and will only pay the difference for bigger fares.

During this time of uncertainty, Emirates Skywards people may also retain tier amounts by fulfilling 80 % of the typical travel requirements. Travellers will also acquire 20 per extra tier miles on any outings until June 30.

No change fee for new Etihad bookings
Etihad Airways, the nationwide airline of the UAE, has also introduced a new policy which allows travellers to create fee-free adjustments to flights. During writing, this policy just pertains to new bookings.

The Abu Dhabi airline allows travellers booking flights or vacations between March 8 and April 7 to create one change to visit plans without incurring any change fees.

This pertains to all destinations over the Etihad network.

The airline already announced that teachers in the UAE cancelling flights because spring break was moved can obtain a full refund.

To be eligible, teachers must provide the airline with a letter of confirmation of career from their university or education institution.
