Coutinho Linked With Shock Move To Liverpool's Arch-Rivals
26 December, 2021
FC Barcelona midfielder Philippe Coutinho has been linked with a surprise move to one of Liverpool's fiercest rivals in the Premier League.
The Brazilian midfielder is reportedly allowed to leave the Camp Nou in the January transfer window as they look to get his wages off the book if they want to sign new players.
Mundo Deportivo have reported that Everton are working on a move to sign the former Liverpool and Inter Milan midfielder.
The Brazil international has not hit the heights at the Camp Nou since making the move from Liverpool in 2018 and the club are now looking to offload his services.
The report claims Coutinho is the Catalans' highest-paid player and getting him off the books will help the club reduce their wage ahead of the reported arrival of Ferran Torres from Manchester City.
The 29-year-old has made 12 appearances in LaLiga this season while only scoring two goals, but he has fallen down the pecking order after the arrival of Xavi Hernandez.
