Xavi Responds To Links With Man City's Torres
01 December, 2021
FC Barcelona manager Xavi Hernandez has responded to reports linking Manchester City's Ferran Torres with a move to the Camp Nou.
The Spain international is currently out injured, but showed glimpses of his talent when he was available last season.
It has been suggest that the 21-year-old, formerly of Valencia, is open to a return to the Spanish top flight amid reported interest from the Catalan outfit, who are looking to bolster their attack.
However, Xavi was in no mood to talk about the Citizens striker after the team's 3-1 victory over Villarreal on Saturday evening.
"It's not the right time to talk about signings. Not right after the game, which will give us a great boost of morale," he said, as per Goal.
However, Blaugrana vice-president Rafa Yuste was a bit more forthcoming when asked recently about the club's interest in Torres.
"Ferran is a great player, like others. We are working with discretion to seek the best for the club," Yuste told Movistar Plus.
"We simply have friends at City, there is a very good relationship and Reverter has paid a courtesy visit."
