Bayern Munich 5-2 Benfica
Bayern Munich smashed SL Benfica 5-2 to advance to the UEFA Champions League knockout stages from Group E on Tuesday evening, with Robert Lewandowski netting a hat-trick.
Lewandowski had the Bavarians up and running before Serge Gnabry made it two whilst Morato gave Benfica a reply to the Pole missing a penalty-kick.
Darwin Nunez issued the Portuguese a second this after a strike from Lewandowski and Leroy Sane put Bayern on a comfortable pedestal, with Lewandowski getting a third thereafter.
FC Dynamo Kyiv 0-1 FC Barcelona
FC Barcelona registered their first win since the departure of manager Ronald Koeman with a 1-0 win over FC Dynamo Kyiv livening up their qualification chances from Group E.
The only goal of the match came well inside the final minutes through teen sensation and the highly-rated Ansu Fati.
Group F
Villarreal CF 2-0 Young Boys
Villarreal CF maintained their qualification hopes from Group F with a 2-0 victory over Young Boys at the El Madrigal.
The opener from the Yellow Submarines came courtesy of Etienne Capoue before Arnaut Danjuma bagged the final effort to leave the group wide open.
Group G
Sevilla 1-2 LOSC Lille
Sevilla maintained their winless start in Group G following a 2-1 loss at home to the French champions LOSC Lille.
An early strike from Lucas Ocampos put the host ahead, but a spot-kick from Jonathan David drew the Ligue 1 side level and left Nanitamo Ikone to grab the winner.
Wolfsburg 2-1 Red Bull Salzburg
Wolfsburg registered their first in Group G with a 2-1 triumph over Red Bull Salzburg.
Ridle Baku opened the scoring for the Bundesliga outfit after just three minutes with his first goal of the campaign.
The visitors did get back on level terms in the 30th minute, with Maximilian Wober opening his account Champions League account for the season.
However, Lukas Nmecha would prove to be the hero on the day after getting the second goal of the game and his second of the competition in the 60th minute.
Group H
Juventus 4-2 Zenit St Petersburg
Italian powerhouse Juventus joined their German counterparts Bayern Munich in the last 16 with a 4-2 victory over Zenit St Petersburg.
The victory maintained Juve’s perfect start at the top of Group H, as a brace from Paulo Dybala and another strike from Federico Chiesa led the way.
An own-goal from Leonardo Bonucci put the Russian giants on board, as Alvaro Morata made it four before Sardar Azmoun handed Zenit a second right at the death.
Malmo 0-1 Chelsea
Chelsea made it back-to-back wins in Group H after defeating Malmo FF 1-0 on Tuesday evening.
Thomas Tuchel went for a front three of Hakim Ziyech, Kai Havertz and Callum Hudson-Odoi while Ruben Loftus Cheek also got a rare start.
While the first half failed to provide goals, the Blues got the breakthrough as two of the returning stars combined when Hudson-Odoi raced down the right before picking out Havertz for the close-range finish.
Tuchel's charges did have a few more chances in the second half but they were not clinical enough, although the one goal was enough to cement second spot.
