COVID-19: Japan to suspend domestic travel campaign in two cities, minister says

JAPAN government is getting ready to pause its domestic travel campaign in two cities following sharp rises in COVID-19 cases, the minister managing the government's coronavirus response said on Tuesday (Nov 24).
Economy Minister Yasutoshi Nishimura said he hoped your final decision about the non permanent exclusion of western Osaka city together with Sapporo found in northern Japan could possibly be made later found in the day.
"Attacks are spreading and health care is now tense, so I think it's great to act as soon as possible," Nishimura told reporters after a Cabinet meeting.
Nishimura said the exclusion would primarily be for 3 weeks, where there would be a halt of new reservations beneath the programme.
Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga said on Saturday the federal government would suspend fresh reservations under the Go To Travel programme for excursions to hard-hit areas as new coronavirus circumstances have continued to go up nationally.
Suga features been attempting a good balancing work of revitalising the hard-hit economy even while keeping the pass on of the coronavirus in order.
Osaka city reported 171 new cases on Mon after seeing an archive 286 cases the prior day, a city official told Reuters.
Sapporo's daily infection fee stood at 140 conditions on Monday, below an archive 197 conditions reported on Thursday the other day, a town official said.
