Drogba Sends Mourinho A Message
23 April, 2021
Didier Drogba has sent a word of advice to Jose Mourinho following the Portuguese tactician was sacked by Tottenham Hotspur this week.
The African legend starred under Mourinho during their time together at Chelsea, in which they won eight trophies, but hung up his boots in 2017.
With the duo having seemingly maintained a good relationship, Drogba sent his former coach a message on Instagram following the latter was relieved of his duties by Spurs.
Mourinho had taken up to the social media platform to create a video of himself surrounded by journalists wanting a touch upon his sacking, in which he could be heard saying: "They don't really give me privacy. Even my friend Gary, he's disturbing me. That's my life."
Having seen the video, Drogba opted to send his former coach a word of advice.
"Enjoy your life ze. Enjoy it," the Ivory Coast icon wrote.
Mourinho was sacked by Spurs on Monday following a string of poor results, and it remains to be seen which job he'll take on next.
The Lilywhites have appointed Ryan Mason as interim head coach before end of the growing season, with the 29-year-old becoming the youngest manager to win a Premier League match following his side's 2-1 victory over Southampton on Wednesday night.
Spurs chairman Daniel Levy, though, is now on the search for a long-term alternative to Mourinho, and the next nine names have already been linked with the work.
