EGA signs deal with Colombian strong for the export of aluminium creation technology
Emirates Global Aluminium, the major industrial company found in the UAE outside oil and gas, signed an arrangement with NEO Aluminio Colombia, that could bring about the export of EGA’s UAE-developed technology for the initial aluminium production facility found in Colombia.

The agreement paves just how for EGA licensing its aluminium smelting technology to NEO Aluminio Colombia, in addition to providing technical services to the Colombian company through the construction and ramp-up of the project.

“We look forward to growing this task with NEO Aluminio Colombia and eventually to the successful request of EGA’s UAE-developed professional technology in their project,” Abdulnasser Bin Kalban, leader of EGA, said.

NEO Aluminio Colombia happens to be assessing the feasibility of creating a minimal carbon aluminium production center, the Green Aluminium Transformation Complex for Colombia, found in the northwest of the united states.

The project, with a production capacity of 540,000 tonnes of aluminium per year, is expected to create new jobs and raise the country's economy.

“After a worldwide search, we've selected EGA predicated on the performance of their technology, the depth of their technological experience, and their background in some of the world’s most crucial recent greenfield and brownfield development developments,” Carlos Santiago, chief executive of NEO Aluminio Colombia, said.

NEO Aluminio Colombia is section of the NEO Group, which manufactures aluminium motor vehicle wheels and electrical cables in Argentina, Brazil and Venezuela that can be purchased within and beyond South America.

EGA is jointly owned by Abu Dhabi’s strategic investment arm, Mubadala Investment Business, and the Investment Company of Dubai. It offers more than 400 customers in over 50 countries. In 2019, EGA offered 2.6 million tonnes of cast metal.

In 2016, EGA became the first UAE commercial company to license its core process technology internationally. Aluminium Bahrain’s Line 6 expansion project, built with EGA’s DX+ Ultra technology, commenced production in December 2018, in line with the company.

“Among our strategic priorities is to create EGA the technology partner of preference for new smelter jobs, building on our accomplishment found in Bahrain and strengthening technology sales as a earnings stream for our business.”
