Exports of Korean Chicken Soup to China Soar

Exports to China of samgyetang or whole chicken cooked in ginseng soup soared a staggering 22 times over the past three years thanks to its explosive popularity there.
According the Korea Agro-Fisheries and Food Trade Corporation on Monday, shipments surpassed US$100,000 last year, up from just $4,500 in 2013.
The rapid rise was attributed to a hike in the number of single households in China, which surpassed 200 million, and a growing interest in healthy food among the Chinese.
