Fans mourn slain ex-footballer revered by Maradona as ‘world best’
A huge selection of supporters paid their respects on Saturday to ex - Argentine footballer Tomas ‘Trinche’ Carlovich, a new player Diego Maradona called the very best on the globe, at a great open-air wake at a good stadium in Rosario.

With the country in lockdown because of the coronavirus pandemic, fans done the stands wearing reddish colored and blue face masks, the colours of the Central Cordoba club with whom Carlovich built his name, to bid farewell to a new player Maradona regarded as his superior.

Carlovich died on Friday at age 74 following he was struck on the top during a violent robbery.
A good hearse carried his casket to the centre of the pitch, where it had been laid on the grass with a ball placed on top, for his last goodbye.

His death shocked the world of Argentine football, particularly in Rosario, the birthplace of Lionel Messi amongst others.

Carlovich, a new player who shunned fame and preferred to play for small clubs, received large praise form Maradona and had spoken of turning straight down a strategy from Pele to become listed on the brand new York Cosmos in the 1970s.

Previous February, Carlovich met with the former Argentina captain who was simply on Rosario for a casino game in his role as Gimnasia coach.

“Trinche, you were better than me,” Maradona wrote while he presented Carlovich with a good signed shirt.
