Legendary Manchester United supervisor Sir Alex Ferguson has named one person he regrets not signing during his time at Old Trafford.
Ferguson remains the Premier League's most successful supervisor after winning 13 titles during his amount of time in charge of the Crimson Devils.
The Scottish tactician signed some very nice players during his trophy-laden spell in Manchester, but has now revealed that Paul Gascoigne was the one who got from him.
"Gascoigne, without issue," Ferguson told Gary Neville within an interview for LADbible Television set.
"I think that he was the best English player since Bobby Charlton. I think he was an excellent player.
"Unfortunately, we didn't acquire him and I think, looking back right now, he made a big oversight. He recognised it himself years soon after. But we'd Geordies in the camp. We'd Bobby Charlton, Bryan Robson, Steve Bruce, also Gary Pallister from Middlesbrough.
"We had persons there who would took health care of him, particularly Bryan Robson who is fantastic with players.
"Instead, he goes to an island in London, and you're easily swallowed up there as a lad. I feel that was a big mistake by him. He was a marvellous player. I loved his strength.
"We enjoyed Newcastle (United) up there and he previously just keep coming back from injury. When he returned, they started winning game titles. I played three in the center of the pitch - (Norman) Whiteside, Robson and Remi Moses - and he destroyed them.
"He nutmegged Moses proper before the dugout and patted him on the top."
