New direct-to-consumer brand Homebody launched today with its first hero products, a sofa and a recliner which are available in seven colorways and a variety of fabrics.
“Our mission is to create furnishings and home goods that exceed all expectations of comfort,” said Zelong Zhao, Homebody co-founder. “As a second-generation furniture maker, we leveraged years of experience and knowledge of the industry to design quality and sustainable furniture that lasts a lifetime, nurturing both our customers and the planet.
“Our launch products, the sofa and recliner, are completely modular and customizable to our customer’s idea of comfort, meticulously designed to bring out the ‘homebody’ in all of us.” Zhao said the sofa and recliner come with plush cushioning and are filled with multiple layers of eiderdown. The products are also scratch and stain resistant.
“For me, enjoying life means no compromise,” said Shuang Liang, co-founder of Homebody. “The inevitable drink spills happen, and we felt it was important to produce a comfy product that can withstand all of life’s little headaches while still looking beautiful.”
The team at Homebody designed the sofa and recliner with ergonomic features that provide back support along with a headrest that uses reclining technology. The pieces are made with 100% recycled fabrics taken from ocean plastics and FSC-certified wood.
“We’ve taken the traditional sofa and transformed it for the modern-day contemporary household to inspire Homebodies of the present and future,” Liang added. “Our sofa and recliner are fully modular for any configuration.”
The sofa and recliner are drop shipped and can be put together with no tools using just a few steps. Pricing starts at $4,490 for the two-seater sofa with the recliners.
