Golden handshake: Cristiano Ronaldo drips in Dh3 million of diamonds during Dubai appearance
He's one of the world's hottest football players, but Cristiano Ronaldo was all ice on Saturday.

The Portuguese footballer was decked out in millions of dirhams worth of diamonds in the UAE this weekend, as he appeared at the 14th edition of Dubai International Sports Conference.

The Juventus forward, 34, positively sparkled on the Madinat Jumeirah stage as he spoke during a headline panel with Rui Pedro.

While Ronaldo revealed in the intimate discussion that he would love to one day appear in a film, he was already dressed like a Hollywood star, pairing his stone-hued suit with a number of pricey jewels.

The athlete sported one of most expensive timepieces ever crafted by luxury watchmaker Rolex for his Dubai appearance, the diamond-studded GMT-Master Ice.

The rare and extravagant accessory rings in at $485,350 (Dh1.8 million), thanks to its 18-karat white gold case and bracelet, set with nearly 30 carats of brilliantly cut diamonds.

Ronaldo paired the timepiece with a diamond band on his wedding finger, as well as a canary diamond ring on his middle finger.

The designer behind the large, cushion-cut gem, which was surrounded by a halo of white diamonds, has not yet been identified.

However, jeweller Dovi Fehler told the Daily Mail the piece was worth an estimated £200,000 (Dh963,000), with the smaller diamond eternity band worth approximately £50,000.

All together, that would make Ronaldo's left hand worth about Dh3 million during his Dubai appearance.

However, that's simply pocket money for the captain of Portugal's national team, who, according to Forbes magazine, raked in $800 million in the last decade, making him the sporting world's second-highest earner, behind boxer Floyd Mayweather.

Father-of-four Ronaldo, a five-time Ballon d’Or winner, was also crowned Best Men’s Player of the Year at the Dubai Globe Soccer Awards on Saturday.

“I have to thank my family, my girlfriend, my boy there, Cristiano, my three kids who are waiting for me in the hotel, my friends, my teammates of Juventus and the national team, my agent, all the people here tonight who support this gala,” the footballer said in his acceptance speech.

“I have to say thank you to the Arabic community, which is always great with me. I have to thank Dubai as well – it’s a marvellous place to be, I’m coming every year and I love this place.

“And finally to thank [everyone] who voted for me. It’s a great honour to be here and receive this amazing award. I hope to be here next year to receive this award, of course."
