High-End Car Imports Boom Despite Lockdown

More than 40,000 high-end imported cars priced at a lot more than W100 million were sold right here this past year (US$1=W1,123). The figure provides a stark illustration of the way the coronavirus lockdown possesses increased the prosperity gap in Korea.

The marketplace share of luxury cars also hit an all-time high at 15.7 percent. Mercedes-Benz led the marketplace with 17,021 cars, accompanied by and BMW's 12,924, Porsche's 5,533 and Audi's 2,459.
Although they constitute a little niche, super-luxury models costing over W200 million flew out of your showrooms, with Bentley selling 296 and Lamborghini 303, up a staggering 130 percent and 75 percent on-year.
