Illegal migrants urged to come forwards on Covid-19 vaccine amnesty
Illegal migrants are being called to join up with a general practitioner to get a coronavirus vaccine, with promises they'll face no questions about their immigration status and no repercussions from the house Office.

The approach by the federal government aims to help Britain to reach herd immunity and accelerate the easing of lockdown.

It's estimated that there are 1.3 million persons in the UK with “irregular status”. They could possess entered the UK using illicit strategies or overstayed a non permanent visa.

“Coronavirus vaccines will come to be offered to everyone residing in the UK cost-free, irrespective of immigration status,” a federal government spokesman said.

“Those registered with a GP are being contacted at the initial opportunity and we will work closely with partners and external organisations to get hold of those people who are not registered with a GP to make sure also, they are offered the vaccine.”

NHS trusts have already been told to attempt "no immigration position checks" on people who come forward for a vaccination.

The same pertains to anyone having a Covid-19 test or treatment for the virus.

"Once people are in our country, it's in all our interests to contain the virus," said Natalie Elphicke, Conservative MP for Dover.

"Thus vaccinating everyone whose transform it is on consumer health grounds, ultimately, will protect us all."

The federal government also plans to attempt publicity campaigns targeted at reaching “hard to attain groups” and non-English speakers, encouraging them to take the vaccine.

"We can start to see the good sense behind this at the same time of national emergency when as much people as possible must be vaccinated," explained Alp Mehmet of MigrationWatch UK.

"Nonetheless it is a matter of regret that successive governments have been reluctant to create solid research about how many people there are in this country with irregular status.

"It could be short-sighted and a wasted option if the Government does not now keep thorough data of how many against the law immigrants come forward.

"That would be absolutely batty."
