Kia's 1st Fully Electric Vehicle Views Strong Demand in Europe
Kia's first fully electric vehicle, the EV6, possesses seen strong demand in Europe since its unveiling in March.

The automaker said Wednesday it has received over 7,600 pre-orders in major European countries including France, Germany, Spain and the U.K.

Kia set a goal of selling 17,000 systems of the EV6 around the world this season with 10,000 of them in Europe. That means it has already achieved 70 percent of its European sales goal in pre-orders only. In Korea, pre-orders possess exceeded 25,000 products.

Kia will start delivering the EV6 found in Korea and Europe found in July. The typical and long-range models will be released first, and the high-performance GT model, that may travel longer distances, will be put into the lineup in the second half of next yr.

The EV6's 800-volt ultrafast charging allows the car's battery to be replenished to 80 percent of its total capacity in only 18 minutes.

The long-range model includes a high-capacity battery and may travel around 510 km on a complete charge in the European standard, in comparison to 395 km for the Renault Zoe. Kia expectations this gives the EV6 an edge over the Zoe, that was the best-selling electrical vehicle in Europe last year with sales topping 100,000.
