KOSPI Plummets Over Conflict with Japan

Asian stock markets plunged Monday on strong U.S. employment figures decreasing the chances of the Fed lowering interest rates.
In Korea, the plunge was compounded by concerns over trade conflict with Japan that dampened investor sentiment.
The Korea Composite Stock Price Index closed down 2.2 percent on Monday at 2,064.17 points, the biggest daily decline since May 9.
An electronic board at KEB Hana Bank headquarters in Seoul shows the Korea Composite Stock Price Index closing at 2,046.17 points on Monday.
The junior Kosdaq also closed down 3.67 percent at 668.72 points, the lowest since Jan. 8.
The won closed down W11.6 against the dollar at W1,182. The last time the won closed below W1,180 against the dollar was June 18.
