KOSPI Rallies Above 2,100 Points

The Korea Composite Stock Price index closed up 0.45 percent on Tuesday at 2,101.04 points, rising above 2,100 points for the first time since July 23.
The KOSPI fell at one point in morning trade but rallied on news that U.S. and Chinese officials plan to meet next week to discuss their trade war.
An electronic board at KEB Hana Bank headquarters in Seoul shows the Korea Composite Stock Price Index closing at 2,101.04 points on Tuesday.
Hyundai Motor stocks rose 0.75 percent on news that it signed an agreement to set up a joint venture with Aptiv, a prominent U.S. auto parts maker.
The news also sent affiliate Hyundai Mobis’ shares soaring 3.18 percent.
