LaLiga President Uses Swipe At Ronaldo
17 November, 2020
LaLiga president Javier Tebas, a known Real Madrid fan, has taken a good controversial swipe at past Los Blancos superstar Cristiano Ronaldo.
In a recently available interview, Tebas was asked about both equally Sergio Ramos and Lionel Messi being strongly associated with moves away from Spain ahead of the 2021/22 campaign.
After admitting he will not want them to leave their respective clubs, Tebas claimed that Ronaldo's exit from the Spanish top flight did not having any negative effect on LaLiga, or any positive effect on Serie A.
"Obviously, I don't prefer them to keep La Liga, but if which were to happen, we'd all need to offer more to take up the slack," the LaLiga chief told Marca.
"Cristiano Ronaldo left, as some haters reminded me on Twitter. I can assure you that little or nothing has changed for all of us.
"In all honesty, I don't believe Serie A has increased very much either, they barely noticed his arrival."
Ronaldo joined Juventus in July 2018, and has since scored 71 goals in 94 matches for the Bianconeri.
