Most Realtors Expect Seoul Property Values to Drop

Six out of 10 real estate experts predict that home prices in Seoul will fall over the next year, according to a survey of 106 market watchers, academics and builders by the Korea Development Institute last month.
Sixty-three of the experts said home prices will drop, while 26 said they will remain unchanged and the rest still expect them to rise despite government measures to rein them in. Four out of 10 thought property prices in Seoul are too high but around one-third said they are too low.
The outlook is even more negative for prices outside Seoul, with the vast majority projecting a decline in home values.
But most said the government should maintain stringent regulations aimed at curbing real estate speculation, while only about a quarter said they should be eased.
