Veteran actor Michael Caine says he didn't know any thing about actors or perhaps that drama academic institutions even existed when he was adolescent, and adds that he is proud of being from the performing class.
"I'm very pleased with being from the performing category. We didn't have funds when we were developing up, but we'd plenty of love," the 88-year-aged actor said.
"I joined an amateur dramatic contemporary society but I never went to drama school because, in the milieu I result from, not merely did we not know any thing about actors, we by no means even knew there is such a thing as drama institution," he recalled. Caine advises youngsters against registering for drama school because he believes budding superstars can get an improved education in performing from easily watching others, reports. "Kids today tell me, 'Should I go to drama college?' And I say, 'No, you'll find out more by sitting found in the subway and watching people opposite you than you'll ever learn at school'," he said.
The actor also feels "very proud" to be in 1960s England when he played a part in "destroying the snobbery of the class system".
He told: "The sixties in England was all about category. It wasn't related to stone, or drugs, or everyone screwing around. It was when the working category in England told all of those other country, 'We don't value what class, colour, or religion anyone is. Because you're Lord Ponsonby of the manor, it doesn't mean we want to come to your house -- we'll possess such a good time that you will want to get from home and arrive to ours." "And we made it stick, too. We destroyed the snobbery of the school system. I'm very pleased with that," Caine recalled.
