New Year's Eve 2020: Burj Khalifa to host fireworks and laser display in Downtown Dubai

It might have already been a subdued season for many, however the Burj Khalifa is defined to bid farewell to 2020 with a bang.
Emaar, the developer at the rear of the Dubai landmark, offers announced it'll celebrate New Year’s Eve with a fireworks and laser beam spectacle in the world’s tallest construction.
On Thursday, December 31, guests can look forward to rockets, firecrackers, and a laser beam and light exhibit, synchronised with The Dubai Fountain, that “promises to reflect the real celebration of Dubai”.
“Delivering world-class experience is portion of Emaar’s DNA and this year we might deliver an even bigger gala celebration,” says Mohamed Alabbar, founder of Emaar.

“The world is facing challenges, but we are united and we will come out of this season stronger than previously. We want to send a note of hope, enjoyment and positivity into the world because this is the spirit of Dubai that people have learnt from Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, who remains to inspire what we carry out with his extraordinary leadership.”
Restaurants and resorts on Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Boulevard and The Dubai Mall terraces can be open and are taking bookings for the night’s celebrations. Burj Recreation area will also welcome households, with meals and beverage outlets and a large screen that will exhibit New Year’s Eve occasions from all over the world.
However, those who would prefer to watch the present without leaving home may do just that, as the celebrations might be broadcast live globally and live-streamed from 8.30pm local time on mydubainewyear.com.
In a bid to keep carefully the people safe, a number of Covid-19 steps will be implemented in Downtown Dubai for the function. This includes thermal cameras, interpersonal distancing, contactless repayments and frequent deep washing and disinfection of public areas.
