Online Purchases from Overseas Hit Fresh Record

Online purchases from overseas hit a record high in the third quarter of this year. Statistic Korea said Friday that Koreans bought W695.6 billion worth of foreign goods online, up 35.9 percent on-year (US$1=W1,120).
The U.S. was the biggest seller of goods to Korea with W367.1 billion, followed by the EU with W140 billion, China with W122.8 billion and Japan with W46.1 billion.
Meanwhile, the amount of Korean goods sold to foreign shoppers online stood at W891.4 billion, up 18.9 percent on-year.
