Pennsylvania certifies election results cementing Biden’s victory
Pennsylvania formally certified its election effects on Tuesday, officially cementing president-elect Joe Biden's success in the keystone point out. “As expected by federal laws, I’ve signed the certificate of ascertainment for the slate of electors for Joe Biden and Kamala Harris,” tweeted Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf.

President Donald Trump won't acknowledge his loss found in the election, in spite of winning 232 votes in the electoral college to Mr Biden’s 306 votes. Mr Trump gained Pennsylvania - and its own 20 electoral university votes - in 2016, but Mr Biden narrowly guaranteed the battleground state this year.

Regardless of the defeat, the president built unsubstantiated allegations of widespread voter fraud and used that as the foundation to file a lot more than 30 lawsuits, which mostly try to stop claims counting mail-in ballots - almost all of which favour Mr Biden and the Democrats. The Pennsylvania Supreme Court rejected one such lawsuit on Mon, which sought to block the counting of around 10,000 ballots from Philadelphia and Allegheny counties - traditionally Democrat strongholds.

But while Mr Trump nonetheless refuses to formally concede the election, he tweeted on Monday that he previously told General Offerings Administration chief Emily Murphy to formally initiate the changeover, allowing Mr Biden’s incoming administration to co-ordinate with the federal government after a weeks-much time delay.

“I am recommending that Emily and her workforce do what should be finished with regard to the original protocols, and also have told my group to accomplish the same,” Mr Trump tweeted.
