Philippines extends COVID-19 lockdown, house quarantine to end-April

Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte on Tuesday (Apr 7) approved the extension of lockdown and home quarantine measures covering more than half of the population, a crisis panel recognized said, in an effort to support the spread of COVID-19.
The Enhanced Network Quarantine was because of end next week but would be extended until Apr 30, Karlo Nograles, a cabinet secretary, told a normal news conference.
Policies restricting activity and gatherings have been around in place around the administrative centre Manila since nearly a month ago, in response to confirmation of the first of all domestic transmission. The Philippines was one of the primary countries to adopt strict home quarantine methods.
