Pump it up: what to expect at this year's Dubai Muscle Show
A lot of brawn will be on show in the UAE next month, with some of the world's most famous bodybuilders jetting in for the annual Dubai Muscle Show.

The fitness and bodybuilding event, the largest of its kind in the Middle East, will welcome the likes of the current Mr Olympia, Brandon Curry, to the Dubai World Trade Centre.

Held between Thursday, December 5 and Saturday, December 7, the show brings together stars of the sport as well as a host of competitions, meet-and-greets and an exhibition hall with samples and discounts.

Entry on the first day is limited to trade professionals, but on Friday, December 6, Curry will host an on-stage Q&A for fans, marking his debut appearance at the Dubai Muscle Show.

The American, who this year was crowned Mr Olympia 2019 at the bodybuilding contest, started competing in the heavyweight division in 2007, and will also host meet-and-greets at yet-to-be specified times.

He's joined on the event line-up by Big Ramy, an Egyptian professional bodybuilder who lives in Kuwait. Ramy, who made his IFBB Pro debut in 2013, will hold meet-and-greets every day of the show.

Phil Heath and Kai Greene will take part in Q&As on Saturday, December 7, at 3pm and 4pm respectively.

Iran’s Hadi Choopan, who came third in his first-ever Mr Olympia this year, coach Hany Rambod, who has trained Choopan and Heath, and Curacao’s Roelly Winklaar, who placed fifth in this year’s Mr Olympia, will also be holding meet-and-greets throughout the three-day itinerary.

Celebrities aside, bodybuilding competitions across multiple categories will also be held throughout Dubai Muscle Show, as well as the Middle East’s Strongest Man and Woman contest.

Fans will also be able to watch athletes battle it out in competitions of mixed martial arts, boxing, Muay Thai, CrossFit and calisthenics.

Tickets cost from Dh80 for single-day entry to Dubai Muscle Show, while general admission for the Friday and Saturday costs Dh110. A three-day ticket for the entire event is Dh145, while VIP access for the whole show costs Dh550.
