Manchester Metropolis advanced to the semi-finals of the Carabao Cup with a 4-1 victory over struggling Arsenal at Emirates Stadium on Tuesday evening.

Arsenal made eight improvements with their side that was first beaten by Everton last time out, while Town made seven changes with their line-up that defeat Southampton within their last outing.

It was a poor start for Arsenal due to City took the business lead in the 3rd minute. It had been all too possible for the tourists and Gabriel Jesus as the Brazilian headed residence from close spectrum after Oleksandr Zinchenko raided down the left flank and clipped a cross towards the near content. Runarsson committed and didn't get there before Jesus, who nodded the ball into a clear net.

In the 13th minute, Alexandre Lacazette got ahead of his man to hook up with Dani Ceballos' corner from the right flank, but he directed his work wide of the right post.

Laczaette, however, made zero mistake with a second bite in the cherry found in the 31st minute. The Gunners acquired a rare foray forward down the kept flank through Gabriel Martinelli. He did very well to beat one concern before lifting a unsafe cross into the middle. It sailed over the head of Joe Willock, but Lacazette was there to immediate his effort into the top-left corner.

In the 41st minute, Riyad Mahrez and Ben Foden coupled with Jesus to open up the Arsenal defence for the Brazilian. He just had Runarsson to defeat, but the keeper pass on himself to deny the City forward from close spectrum.

Metropolis were gifted the business lead by a shocking mistake from Gunners goalie Runarrson. Mahrez blasts his work over the wall towards the web. Runarsson must have had the hit covered, but he succeeded in mere punching the ball into the back of the web.

Five minutes later, it had been 3-1 just after Foden latched to an offload from Fernandinho and clipped his effort above the onrushing Runarsson in to the back of the web. Aymeric Laprote set the icing on the cake with the fourth and last City goal.

Foden played a one-several with Mahrez from a corner before bending a sublime cross in to the box from the proper flank. Laporte was unmarked from six yards and directed his effort past Runarsson easily to wrap up a convincing win.
