Regional language public media company ShareChat shacks up to Google Cloud
Google Cloud on Mon said regional language public media company ShareChat has fully migrated its infrastructure to its program.

The move will enable ShareChat to scale its business, improve efficiency, reduce costs and enhance the efficiency of the application that serves more than 60 million month to month active users in 15 distinct Indian languages, a statement said.

ShareChat heavily depends on IT infrastructure, provided the high-intensity data and high level of content and visitors the platform generates, such as for example posts, likes, views, and followers. A large proportion of its active users hail from tier-II and III places, with most of them counting on 2G networks.

“Hence, minimising the affect of mobile bandwidth and delivering an excellent knowledge for users of the app are the most significant business requirements for ShareChat,” the assertion said.

No financial details of the partnership were disclosed.

“We made a decision to go and standardise about Google Cloud because we believe this can help us build better near future technologies. The advances we've been in a position to drive with reliability, scalability and observability from moment one are also a significant plus,” Venkatesh Ramaswamy, vice-president (engineering) at Sharechat, said.

Karan Bajwa, managing director of Google Cloud India, said the partnership will help ShareChat implement scalable and reliable infrastructure that will continue to enable it to deliver innovative and secure cloud-based services to an incredible number of ShareChat users nationwide.
