Reports: Liverpool Want Messi
With superstar Lionel Messi believed to be unhappy at FC Barcelona and reportedly in a position to leave the club free of charge, Premier League leaders Liverpool are reported to be considering securing his signature.

According to La Repubblica, the Reds would be keen to sign the 32-year-old Argentine should he look to leave Barca towards the end of the season.

Messi reportedly includes a clause in his contract that allows him to leave the Catalans before the start of every season, for as long he informs the club of his decision by the end of May for the reason that particular.

Following his public row with sporting director Eric Abidal, a huge question mark has been drawn over his future in Spain, but perhaps his uncertainty has been brewing for some time longer.

In an interview late this past year, Messi exposed about his disappointment with Barca's recent UEFA Champions League woes, and said that while he wishes to remain at the Blaugrana, he also really wants to compete for the largest prizes.

The Argentine joined the Spanish giants when he was just 13 years old, and has played his entire professional career in its famous blue and maroon colours.

Should Messi make the decision to leave Barca, Liverpool might be a club that interests him, especially given their recent dominance in Europe.
