Past United trainee Mick Clegg My office was on the fitness center so I was always designed for anyone whenever they wanted to talk. It's listening to the player and finding out what they need in their minds that is key.
"I'd seen him play over in Portugal. I'm back Carrington in my chair in the fitness center and this young lad turns up early in the morning. He will come in and says 'I've heard about you and I know you execute a lot of work separately with the players," he advised the BBC documentary 'Cristiano Ronaldo: Impossible to Ignore.
"Then he said 'I'm likely to be the very best player on earth.'
"Finished . about Cristiano at United can be that I know he found work with United as an apprenticeship.
"I remember seeing him in suits and he'd make a mistake, or get caught, he’d fall down and you’d have the group shouting at him, players shouting at him. But it didn’t bother him.
"Then he would know, ‘This may be the bit I need to work on’, and he'd go and focus on it."
