Salah Breaks Special Record In Liverpool's Six-Goal Thriller
Liverpool missed the chance to pull three points clear at the top of the Premier League table dropping points in a six-goal thriller with Brentford.

The Reds made four changes from their win over Crystal Palace, as Jurgen Klopp brought back Trent Alexander-Arnold, Joel Matip, Andy Robertson and Curtis Jones.

Liverpool almost got off to the perfect start in the seventh minute after Salah had a low shot cleared off the line by Kristoffer Ajer before Bryan Mbuemo saw his effort cleared off the line by Matip at the other end.

In a fast-paced game, Thomas Frank's charges eventually broke the deadlock just before the half-hour mark after Ethan Pinnock latched onto a square pass unchallenged at the back post and poked it past Alisson from close range.

The Reds quickly got back into the game four minutes later after Jota guided a free header past Raya at the back post from Jordan Henderson's cross.

Klopp's troops almost went ahead just before the half-time break after a deflected shot by Jones was tipped into the bottom post by Raya and Jota pounced on the rebound but the Spanish shot stopper made a great reflex save off the line to keep the score level going to the half-time interval.

Liverpool were on the front foot early in the second stanza as Salah put his side ahead lead nine minutes from the half-time break with a deflected low shot unmarked at the back post after a through ball and while the goal was initially ruled out for offside, the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) ruled it onside. With that goal, the Egyptian became the fastest playing in the club's history to reach 100 league goals in 151 appearances.

Brentford were fired up and Vitaly Janelt snatched the equaliser in the 64th minute with a header from close range in a scramble from a rebound after Pontus Jansson's strike came off the underside of the crossbar.

Jones restored the lead for Klopp's men three minutes later with a thumping effort from outside the box that took a nasty deflection and looped past Raya at the near post.

Salah should have put Liverpool out of sight in the last 14 minutes but chipped a strike on top of the net in a one-on-one with Raya and that proved costly, as late substitute Yoane Wissa got the equaliser for Brentford seven minutes before time with a close-range effort after a scramble inside the box.

Ivan Toney sent the home crowd into a frenzy after finding the back of the net in the last two minutes but the goal was ruled out for offside as the sides settled for a share of the spoils.
