Samsung, Hyundai Top Social Responsibility Ranking for Foreign Firms in China

Samsung and Hyundai were named the most socially responsible foreign companies in China. The two Korean giants topped an annual survey released by the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences last Friday, which ranks some 300 local and foreign firms.
For the sixth straight year, Samsung topped the list among foreign businesses, scoring 93 out of 100 points. Hyundai was the runner-up with 91.6.
Their social contributions in the country include providing infrastructure and medical care to fight poverty in rural areas, and funding children's education. Most Korean firms did well in the survey, averaging just over 70 points, which is double the overall average score.
