Solskjaer Gives Transfer Update Ahead Of Deadline
30 January, 2021
Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has given an update found on his side's transfer dealings ahead of Monday's deadline.
The Red Devils manager has confirmed that Jesse Lingard will join West Ham United on mortgage loan, saying he hopes the player can bounce back from a hard stint at Old Trafford.
"We want Jesse to come back here revitalised and having proven at West Ham how good a player he is," Solskjaer stated, as quoted by Goal.
"He's just been unfortunate with several issues, lots of periods he previously to stay from us with COVID-19, isolation and close contact.
"The rest of the team did well. We've had little to no injuries and he’s certainly not forced his way in to the team. I simply want him to head out there and revel in himself, show how very good a player he is certainly and come back and exhibit he's a Man Utd player through and through."
Solskjaer as well indicated that Marcos Rojo is near leaving found in this window, with reports suggesting that he'll join Boca Juniors, even while Sergio Romero is likely to stay.
"It is likely that Marcos dates back to Argentina - little paperwork left to be achieved," the Norwegian added.
"(For) Sergio, I've not heard anything there apart from that he'll be with us for the others of his contract."
United have already loaned out Ethan Laird, while Timothy Fosu-Mensah joined Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen and Odion Ighalo returned to Shanghai Shenhua after his loan spell finished.
