Stadium Announcer Fined R24k For 'Pig' Ronaldo Insults
31 July, 2021
A stadium announcer has been slapped with a R24 000 fine following a scathing verbal attack on Cristiano Ronaldo and his family.
According to Portuguese news outlet A Bola, FC Porto's stadium announcer, Fernando Saul, has been fined €1 430 (R24 000) for insulting Ronaldo, his mother and Juventus.
The incident reportedly occurred after Juve crashed out of the UEFA Champions League at the hands of Porto at the round of 16 stage last season.
It is alleged that Saul called Ronaldo a "pig" and referred to the Bianconeri as the "Italian thieves", and even labelled Ronaldo's mom, Dolores Aveiro, a "toothless crone" on Instagram.
For his actions, the Estadio do Dragao announcer reportedly has to pay the abovementioned fine to the 36-year-old Juve forward.
