Belgium Advance, Ukraine Set Unwanted Record

Ukraine 0-0 Belgium
Belgium booked their spot in the round of 16 at the 2024 European Championship following a goalless draw against Ukraine.
The Red Devils came into the clash on the back of a win over Romania over the weekend, while the Ukrainians also bounced back against Slovakia.
Belgium coach Tedesco made just one change from the win, as Leandro Trossard came back into the side to replace Dodi Lukebaki, who missed out through suspension. The Red Devils enjoyed most of the possession in the first half, but were finding it tough to carve out any serious openings at Anatolli Trubin's goal. Neither side were able to find the breakthrough in the second half and were forced to settle for a share of the spoils.
The result sees the Belgians finish in second spot, while Ukraine have become the first team in history to be eliminated with four points.
Slovakia 1-1 Romania
Romani secured top spot in Group E despite playing to a 1-1 draw against Slovakia on Wednesday.
Slovakia were looking to bounce back after the loss to Ukraine over the weekend, while Romania also had hopes of going to the round of 16.
It was Slovakia who got the breakthrough in the 24th minute, Ondrej Duda got on the end of Kucka's cross and sent a pin-point header into the bottom corner.
Romania managed to get back on level terms after 37 minutes after being awarded a penalty for Hancko's foul following a VAR review, allowing Razvan Marin to step up and blast the ball home from 12-yards.
That proved to be the final goal, as the two nations secured a point a piece on the night as Romania finish top, while Slovakia also advance as one of the best third-place finishers.
All four teams in Group E finish level on four points.
