Warner, Rashid guide Hyderabad
30 March, 2019
David Warner hit a brilliant fifty to ensure that Sunrisers Hyderabad notched a five-wicket win over Rajasthan Royals in an Indian Premier League encounter at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad yesterday.
Sanju Samson struck the first century of the season, but it went in vain as Rajasthan Royals could not defend 198. Samson, who remained unbeaten on 102, was ably supported by skipper Ajinkya Rahane, who scored 70 off 49 balls.
In the chase, David Warner and Jonny Bairstow put up a 110-run partnership in just 9.4 overs, which ensured that Hyderabad won the match without much trouble in the end. Rashid Khan struck a few lusty blows at the end of the innings to take the side past the finish line.
Rashid was adjudged as the player-of-the-match for his figures of 1 for 24.
