WORKINGMENBLUES launches direct manufacturer-to-consumer digital fabric showroom
WORKINGMENBLUES, a maker of fancy fabrics and prime garments using its headquarters in Amsterdam, has introduced its Digital Cloth Library.

With the arrival of the pandemic, the style industry has been forced to adapt and innovate. Most trade shows, catwalks, and even fitting areas are going digital.

At WORKINGMENBLUES, a small team has taken this subject into their unique hands and launched the initial independent manufacturer-to-client online textile library where clients may directly select and buy their favourite swatches from a assortment of over 1000 special in-home designed fabrics.

The Digital Textile Library showcases all WORKINGMENBLUES fabrics in high-res with all technical data available. The user can target their search on the season, supplies, ecological certification, technique, design, colour, weight, and width. Following this, clients can select fabric and develop focussed favourites boards. Quality swatches may then be requested to become delivered to their doorstep.

Initially focused on Ready-to-Wear garment manufacturing, light woven and outerwear, WMB produces in China and the Baltics, with MOQs as low as 100 pieces. In 2017, the company made a decision to align vertically into textiles, by providing exclusively designed fabrics with their existing RTW-clientele together with new customers.

The company, that patterns its fabrics in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, and produces them in Hangzhou, China, is currently working on its SS22 collection which is targeting to transport at the least 50% ecologically accredited fabrics of around 250 total creations.

Aleks Kuijpers, Founder at WORKINGMENBLUES noted, “The industry is going digital, and to be able to stay relevant and accessible on a global scale, we need to adjust to the new ways of working. Working with a number of the best-known fashion houses in the superior sector from New York, Paris, and Amsterdam signifies that our focus is on short-lead times along with environmental responsibility. By launching our digital fabric library, we are not only able to have a step towards our goal of lowering our ecological footprint but also make our collections considerably more visible thus allowing functions to accelerate.”

WORKINGMENBLUES works on a good first-come-first-serve basis, and therefore once a textile has been selected for bulk order by a customer it is taken out of the collection and safeguarded for exclusivity. The company offers the availability to focus on customised designs to meet up individual requirements and allowing a far more flexible creative process.

If considering discovering the fabric collections in person, WORKINGMENBLUES’ showroom is positioned in Amsterdam. Additionally, the elegant fabric specialist has representing firms carrying their collections in the following geographical areas; Seoul, South-Korea (BOEM INC.), New York and LA, United States (Chesler & Associates), Milan, Italy (The New Flower di Nicola Pandolfi).
