About 100,000 Malaysians employed in Singapore to receive COVID-19 vaccine

About 100,000 Malaysians employed in Singapore are anticipated to be vaccinated against COVID-19 in the next phase of Malaysia's coronavirus immunisation programme.
Johor's chief minister Hasni Mohammad said that as well as Science, Technology and Advancement Ministry (MOSTI), authorities will generate a system to join up Malaysians employed in Singapore.
“The ministry has agreed to supply the vaccine earlier to those working in Singapore," said Hasni.
"We realize there are about 400,000 Malaysians who function in Singapore each day, but for the original stage, the ministry offers agreed that 100,000 will have the vaccine."
It is hoped that the maneuver allows the border with Singapore to reopen in the near future also to restore Johor's overall economy, Hasni added.
Both land borders have already been closed since Mar 18 last year when Malaysia implemented a movements control order.
Previous August, Singapore and Malaysia applied two cross-border travelling schemes between the several countries - the Reciprocal Green Lane (RGL) and Periodic Commuting Arrangement (PCA) - but the RGL arrangement was suspended in Feb 1.
Period 1 of Malaysia's vaccination program involved medical and different frontline personnel.
Phase 2 includes persons aged 60 and in this article, together with those suffering morbidities often observed in COVID-19 deaths.
