Abu Dhabi to Europe for Dh244 one way: Wizz Air launches flights from UAE to five European cities

Wizz Air is launching flights to and from Abu Dhabi and five new European destinations.
The brand new routes will hook up the UAE capital directly with Romania and Hungary from June, and Bulgaria and Poland from September. Another destination in Romania may also launch in September.
Economy fares on all routes start from 59.99 euros (Dh244) for a one-way flight, and tickets already are on sale.
The flights are reliant on UAE authorities lifting travel restrictions on passenger services in and from the country, and so are also at the mercy of regulatory approval.
This will be the 1st time an airline will operate directly from Abu Dhabi to Budapest, Bucharest, Cluj-Napoca, Katowice and Sofia. The low-cost fares will appeal to people from Europe who want to visit Abu Dhabi, as well concerning UAE residents keen to explore new destinations.
"Wizz Air’s new routes to Budapest, Bucharest, Cluj-Napoca, Katowice and Sofia highlights our commitment to connecting Abu Dhabi with popular global destinations," said Shareef Al Hashmi, chief executive officer of Abu Dhabi Airports.

"These new routes positively reflect the industry’s resilience and its own capability to continue pushing forward with bold plans which will stimulate consumer demand and the sustained recovery of the aviation market," added Al Hashmi.
Travellers that book to fly with Wizz Air through the coronavirus pandemic can change plans if flights are impacted because of travel bans.
Wizz Air allows travellers to rebook flights for a later date, obtain a cash refund or choose travel credit equivalent to 120 per cent of the initial booking.
The airline has also implemented new safety precautions. Included in these are distributing sanitising pads to all or any passengers, obligatory face masks and seat distancing policies on flights where the load factor permits it.
Flights to Abu Dhabi from Bucharest and Budapest will launch on Wednesday, June 3. From Sofia and Katowice, in southern Poland, flights will operate from Tuesday, September 15. On Wednesday, September 16, Wizz Air will launch flights to Abu Dhabi from Cluj-Napoca, one of Romania's most-visited cities.
In March, Wizz Air and Abu Dhabi Developmental Holding Company announced the capital's first low-cost airline. Wizz Air Abu Dhabi is likely to begin operations later this year.
