Abu Dhabi to web host International Defence Conference found in February

Abu Dhabi will sponsor the International Defence Conference on February 20 subsequent year in a good hybrid format, occurring both practically and at the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company’s Business Centre.

The IDC will explore means of protecting artificial intelligence and other disruptive technologies from misuse by either state or non-state actors, including terrorist and extremist groups. Panellists will give attention to how governments, businesses and academics employed in the sector, can collaborate to guarantee the protection of crucial technology and ensure their rewards are used for wider peacekeeping efforts.
A second session will focus on disruption in the defence source chain sector, that was experienced during Covid-19. The program will highlight how defence corporations can support militaries in achieving their requirements, how defence developing is usually changing and how supply chains need to maintain pace.
The third session will highlight research and production in the defence sector. Panellists will discuss the way the defence R&D sector will focus on future technology, incorporating AI, and how this study can be used for civilian application.
The ultimate session will talk about how digital technologies have created latest cybersecurity challenges and their implications for the defence industry. Delegates will discuss how industry and federal government players can react to threats such as third-receive together manipulation of technology, personal info theft, or weaponising of public media with false or misleading information.
The IDC has “come at [an] opportune minute where the world is targeted on know-how,” said Matar Ali Al Romaithi, chief economical production officer of Tawazun, your body tasked with creating a home-grown defence industry.
The prior edition of Idex and Navdex in February 2019 welcomed 124,400 visitors. The UAE Armed Pressured awarded contracts worthwhile Dh20.5 billion through the five-day event.
International defence companies won 65 per cent of total contracts through the event while localized companies won the rest.
Abu Dhabi introduced the Idex in 1993 which is currently the biggest defence fair in your community and one of the major in the world.
Defence spending continues to increase and has so far been mainly insulated from the pandemic's fallout. Total global armed service expenditure rose 3.6 % to $1.917 trillion in 2019, the largest annual growth in spending in ten years, according to the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute.
