Acrobatic Giroud gives Chelsea advantage over Atletico

Chelsea edged Atletico Madrid 1-0 found in the primary leg of their round of 16 tie at Arena Nationala found in Bucharest on Tuesday evening.
The Blues built four changes from the pull at Southampton, with Andreas Christensen, Callum Hudson-Odoi, Jorginho and Olivier Giroud all recalled.

In a very tight contest, Thomas Tuchel's charges came near breaking the deadlock right before the break after Mason Mount picked out Timo Werner on the kept channel and the German turned from Stefan Savic to unleash a strike that was saved by Oblak.
Giroud eventually broke the deadlock for the Blues in the 68th minute with a beautiful overhead kick, with the Video recording Associate Referee (VAR) reversing the original on-pitch offside decision.
