The Leading African Scorers In Premier League History
With both Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane recently surpassing Premier League records held by Didier Drogba, here is where the two 2021 Africa Cup of Nations finalists rank among the leading African goalscorers in English top-flight history.

This week, Salah became the African player with the most goal contributions in England's top division, overtaking Drogba. In Liverpool's 6-0 win over Leeds United, he struck twice and assisted a goal to take his overall tally to 160 involvements.

The 29-year-old achieved this remarkable feat in 72 league fewer appearances than Drogba, making him the most lethal African superstar to have played in the Premier League. Mane, meanwhile, has overtaken Drogba's EPL goals tally of 104, having amassed an impressive 106 league strike since his debut in the competition for Southampton in 2014.

Jurgen Klopp will hope his two forwards carry their form into this weekend's Carabao Cup final against Thomas Tuchel's Chelsea, a game that is likely to provide immense entertainment given their most recent meeting.

In January, the Blues and the Reds played to a 2-2 draw in a thrilling league encounter that sets Sunday's final up perfectly.

Going into the clash, Liverpool have failed to beat Chelsea in their past three meetings, with their most recent win over their rivals coming in 2020.

Both sides, however, will head into the match brimming with confidence, after Chelsea beat Lille 2-0 in the UEFA Champions League in midweek and Liverpool battered Marcelo Bielsa's Leeds by six goals on Wednesday.
