FC Barcelona climbed to second spot on the LaLiga table with a 1-0 victory over Sevilla on Sunday night.

Venue: Camp Nou

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Ousmane Dembele and Ferran Torres maintained their spot in the attack from El Clasico, while Ivan Rakitic and Anthony Martial headlined Sevilla's line-up.

Dembele picked up from where he left off against Real Madrid as he carved out the game's first chance on 12 minutes by picking out Frenkie de Jong, who headed over the crossbar.

Sevilla came into this fixture with just one win in their last five matches across all competition and really struggled to get a hold of the ball in the first half at the Camp Nou. Xavi Hernandez's charges managed to carve out a couple chances late in the first half, with Aubameyang going closest by forcing a fine save out of goalkeeper Yassine Bounou.

The visitors were nearly silence shortly after the break when Ocampos skipped past a couple challenges before unleashing low strike that forced Marc-Andre ter Stegen into a fine save.

Barcelona went agonisingly close at the other end on 69 minutes as Gerard Pique saw his powerful header crash against the upright before Sergio Busquets blazed over from the rebound.

The hosts were not to be denied three minutes later when Gavi opened the scoring with a neat finish into the far corner after being picked out by Dembele.

Sevilla coach Julen Lopetegui threw on Rafa Mir and Ludwig Augustinsson in the closing stages with the hope of bagging an equaliser.

However, Xavi's charges remained resolute until the final whistle to claim a sixth successive win in the league which sides the side leapfrog Sevilla into second spot.
