Bayern's Title Celebration PLACED ON Hold After Shock Loss
Mainz 2-1 Bayern Munich

Bayern Munich were denied the opportunity to clinch the Bundesliga title on Saturday afternooon after suffering a 2-1 loss to Mainz.

The visitors welcomed back top scorer Robert Lewandowski, as Eric-Maxim Choupo-Moting dropped to the bench.

However, it was the home side who broke the deadlock after just 3 minutes through Jonathan Michael's first league goal of the season.

While Bayern were not able going to back immediately, the lead was doubled after Robin Quaison fired past Manuel Neuer.

Hansi Flick introduced Choupo-Moting and Tanguy Nianzou in the beginning of the second half as they looked to mount a comeback.

Lewandowski did pull goal back second-half stoppage time, nonetheless it was not enough as Mainz held to claim maximum points.

Wolfsburg 0-2 Borussia Dortmund

Borussia Dortmund kept themselves in the search for a top-four finish with a 2-0 win away to Wolfsburg.

Jadon Sancho returned to the Dortmund line-up to join Erling Haaland and Marco Reus in the attack.

Haaland made his intensions clear in early stages after opening the scoring on 12 minutes along with his 24th league goal of the growing season.

The hosts were not able to find a way back in the first half while Dortmund could not add to their advantage.

Dortmund did not enjoy the best of starts to the next half as the highly-rated Jude Bellingham was sent off after picking up his second yellow on 59 minutes.

Despite the numerical disadvantage, the visitors got the next goal on 68 minutes, with Haaland completing his brace after being create by Mahmoud Dahoud.
