Britain to task China at UN more than access to Xinjiang
Britain will on Monday (Feb 22) call for the United Nations to be given "urgent and unfettered" access to Xinjiang to investigate reports of abuses found in the Chinese region.

Uk Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab will also mark Britain's return to the UN Human Rights Council as a voting member by condemning the rights record of fellow council people China and Russia and can raise concerns about Myanmar and Belarus, his business office said.

On China, Raab will make reference to information of abuses in Xinjiang, including torture, forced labour and forced sterilisation of women. "They are occurring on an industrial scale," he will say, regarding to his office.

"The UN Huge Commissioner for People Rights, or another independent fact-finding professional, must - and I repeat must - be given urgent and unfettered usage of Xinjiang," he'll say.

China offers been widely condemned for establishing complexes in Xinjiang that Beijing describes as being "vocational training centres" to stamp out extremism and present people new expertise. China's critics have called them concentration camps.

The UN has said that at least 1 million Uighurs and other Muslims have already been detained in Xinjiang.

Raab will also improve the "disgraceful" treatment of Kremlin critic Alexei Navalny, the crisis found in Myanmar and the problem in Belarus.

He will lay out guidelines Britain has taken up to address these concerns, such as for example sanctions, and inspire others to follow.
