China passes national protection law for Hong Kong
China's parliament approved national reliability legislation for Hong Kong on Tuesday (Jun 30), the city's Cable TV reported.

It sets the level for the most radical modification to the former Uk colony's life-style since it returned to Chinese guideline in 1997.

CABLE TELEVISION, citing an unidentified source, said the law was approved unanimously by the Standing up Committee of China's Nationwide People's Congress.

Beijing introduced regulations in response to previous year's often-violent pro-democracy protests found in the city. It'll deal with subversion, terrorism, separatism and collusion with overseas forces, officials have explained.

A draft of the law, which will enter into force the moment it is gazetted in Hong Kong, has yet to be published. 

A huge selection of Hong Kongers marched silently through the city's roads on Sunday in protest against the law. 

Riot law enforcement armed with shields were present as the group moved from Jordan to Mong Kok in the Kowloon district, as part of a "silent protest", where they marched however the normal chanting or slogan shouting was mainly absent.

The event came a evening after Hong Kong police refused permission for an annual march that's held on Jul 1 to tag the handover of metropolis from Britain to Chinese authorities 23 years back.

Police cited in a good statement that a march would be in violation of Hong Kong's recent ban of groups of more than 50 people gathering which was put in place therefore of the coronavirus pandemic.
