Fernandes Shines As Man Utd Thrash Watford

It had been the Bruno Fernandes show at Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon, as Manchester United thrashed Watford 3-0 to improve their top-four hopes.
Mason Greenwood, David de Gea and Fernandes made a return for the Red Devils, who looked to take good thing about Tottenham Hotspur and Sheffield United's slip-ups on Saturday.
After a quiet begin to the first half, the Red Devils went near pulling ahead in th 18th minute but Daniel James was only in a position to hit the side-netting from close range.
There have been a couple scary occasions for the United defence early in the first half, however the likes of Troy Deeney and Gerard Deulofeu were not able to make the most in the 18-yard area.
United were then awarded a penalty five minutes prior to the break after Ben Foster's foul on Fernandes, who stepped up and calmly slot home from 12-yards out to secure his first goal for the club.
Watford had the ball in the rear of the web six minutes following the halftime break through Troy Deeney's close-range effort but the strike was disallowed by the Video Assistant Referee for a handball by Craig Dawson.
United then doubled the lead soon after as Martial netted for a third straight face with a outstanding finish from a tight angle after he was at first denied by Foster after being played in Fernandes.
The hosts managed to grab a third goal with a quarter-hour left in the contest as Fernandes turned provider once more to choose Greenwood, who placed one in to the top corner.
Second-half substitutes Odion Ighalo and Tahith Chong went near to adding to the lead late in the overall game, but 3-0 was the way the face ended as United moved up to fifth spot, three points behind Chelsea.
