Freezer firm to release probe after Japan COVID-19 vaccines spoiled

Japan said on Tuesday (Mar 2) an investigation will be launched after more than 1,000 coronavirus vaccine doses had to be thrown out when a freezer storing them malfunctioned.
A medical institution reported that 172 vials of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine, which should be kept between -80 and -60 degrees centigrade, were rendered pointless following the freezer breakdown over the weekend, Japan's well being ministry said, wasting up to 1 1,032 doses.
Japan commenced its inoculation program on Feb 17 - just a lot more than five months prior to the Tokyo Olympics - and has up to now only approved the Pfizer-BioNTech drug.
