Haaland Sends Borussia Dortmund Up To Second Spot

Borussia Dortmund 4-2 Union Berlin
Borussia Dortmund clinched their third straight victory in the Bundesliga after hammering Union Berlin 4-2 courtesy of a brace by Erling Haaland at Signal Iduna Park.
Raphael Guerreiro and Haaland gave the hosts a comfortable two-goal lead heading to the half-time break and an own goal by Marvin Friedrich seven minutes inside the second stanza took the game away from Union.
However, Max Kruse and Andreas Voglsammer gave Dortmund a scare after getting two goals back for Union but only for Haaland to put the game to bed seven minutes before time and completed his brace.
Dortmund climbed up to third spot on the log with 12 points while Union dropped to eighth place with six points, both after five matches.
BVB will face a litmus test when they visit Borussia Monchengladbach in the Borussen Derby next Saturday evening while Union will be looking to get back on track when they host Arminia Bielefeld next Saturday in the afternoon.
Wolfsburg 1-1 Eintracht Frankfurt
Wolfsburg's perfect start to the season came to an end after they were held to a 1-1 draw by winless Eintracht Frankfurt at Volkswagen Arena.
Sam Lammers broke the deadlock for the visitors seven minutes before the half-time break and Wout Weghorst rescued a point for Wolfsburg with the equaliser 20 minutes before time.
The Wolves dropped down to second place on the log, with 13 points, equal on points with leaders Bayern Munich but having an inferior goal difference after five rounds of matches while Eintracht remained winless in 15th place with four points.
Wolfsburg will visit Hoffenheim next Saturday afternoon in their upcoming league match while Eintracht will host FC Koln on the same day and time.
Stuttgart 1-3 Bayer Leverkusen
Ten-man Bayer Leverkusen got back to winning ways after thrashing Stuttgart 3-1 at Marcedes-Benz Arena.
Robert Andrich and Patrick Schick gave Bayer a two-goal lead early in the game before they were reduced to ten men in the 31st minute.
Goalscorer Andrich got a straight red-card, that was initially a yellow card but upgraded after a Video Assistant Referee (VAR) review, for a bad challenge.
Orel Mangala pulled a goal back for Stuttgart seven minutes before the half-time break but Florian Wirtz sealed the deal for Bayer 20 minutes before time.
Leverkusen went up to fourth on the log with ten points while Stuttgart dropped down to 14th place with four points, both after five rounds of matches.
Stuttgart will be looking to bounce back when they visit newly-promoted side Bochum next Sunday in the afternoon while Leverkusen will host Mainz next Saturday in the afternoon.
